PROS:
- Less expensive than a full-time hire.
- Scheduled time in the business on very focused parts of the business.
- Engage the resource as needed. “Flex time”.
- Most work on a monthly retainer.
- Rapid results based on a “been there done that” before resource.
CONS:
- These are more “Truth’s” than cons, as I really can’t think of any.
- Can seem more transactional than relational until you get to know your resource.
- May require NDA’s and specific SOW’s to ensure accountability and privacy.
SUMMARY:
A Fractional C-Level isn’t that different than a part time worker in theory, but generally companies that are hiring part-time help are filling a need for events that have caused an excess in work to be done.
